Prison Break - They're Watching You/You'd Better Run

from PNWFS Demo Reel by David Lee Grossman

/

about

Written for brass, percussion, and piano, this piece starts out with a more textural section to build tension, leading into a fast rhythmic section suitable for a chase scene using the same melodic and harmonic elements. Our final orchestration assignment, and the first session we conducted ourselves after our second quarter conducting class.

Imprisoned for a crime he never committed, Frank convinces his cellmate to escape. Hiding it from the watchful eyes of the guards, they begin to plan and then put it into action. Wanting to get out as soon as possible, they work quickly each night, careful to make sure they don’t get caught. Finally, they’re ready to execute their plan, but that night when they sneak out of their cell, they’re spotted by a random patrol and the chase is on. Will they escape?
